A SANDVELD JOURNEY
Of Adventure and Resilience...
The Voyager story began with humble beginnings at the Voyager Boutique Creative Retreat in Canggu Bali over a decade ago. After many years of searching; from Portugal to Peru, and the Karoo to California, award-winning architect and hotelier Don Albert and his yoga-instructor husband Reece found the perfect location for the next chapter of Voyager as a side quest while on a surf-trip to Elands Bay. Returning to Cape Town via the village of Redelinghuis, they stumbled on the glorious historic town of Piketberg in the Western Cape of South Africa, and fell in love with the most curious Victorian 1880's homestead in the centre of town, and 2 years later opened the Voyager Boutique Homestead Retreat, Piketberg.

Situated on the outskirts of the picturesque historic town of Piketberg, our focus is on the multitude of outdoor and adventure activities that exist in the Bergrivier basin, as well as connecting you to the local culture of the Sandveld. As a hub, Piketberg provides easy access to a number of exciting day-trips including surfing, mountainbike riding, adventure motorcycle routes, hiking, fishing, bird-watching, san rock art, architectural heritage tours and so much more.
Our on-site experience is underpinned by our beautiful grounds where we are incorporating a permaculture farm into the existing indigenous garden planted by artist Johan Louw previously.
Join us for a legendary time of outdoor cuisine, insightful excursions and fabulous company in the Flying Fig Garden Bistro under our majestic Ficus Natalensis "wild fig" tree.

At Voyager we don't just believe in sustainablity, but rather, the regeneration of our environment. We are working closely with local suppliers and on our own property to reduce, recylce and reuse, and to grow as much produce on the property as possible. Our Farm-To-Table approach means fresh, organic and delicious produced is locally sourced.
