At our unique BOUTIQUE HOMESTEAD RETREAT, each individually themed room is designed to offer a blend of comfort, fantasy and escape, providing a rejuvenating, thoughtful stay.
Themed 1880:1930:1960 ~ with bespoke interiors and original artwork by proprietor, artist and award-winning architect Don Albert, each room tells a unique story rooted in time and place. Like many farmhouses across Southern Africa that have been altered over time, The Voyager superimposes three key design epochs since the construction of the original homestead into one coterminous reality today: Victorian, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern (Afrikaaner Brutalism). Not merely eclectic, the interiors form a cerebral, heart-warming narrative.
ANETHOLE QUEEN SUITE
The Seduction of Star Anise
The sultry and romantic Anethole Queen Suite is named after the aromatic phenol in Star Anise, a key ingredient in the East-Asian inspired cooking central to Voyager. Dark and moody, and ever so camp with its Chinoserie and Empire Style interior, the large and luxurious Art Deco bathroom is the showstopper. The suite has a dedicated dining table of its own on the veranda, or guests can dine in larger groups on the communal tables on the veranda too. With upcycled objet and decor sourced from throughout the Western Cape, the room exudes an eclectic layered charm. Close those original Victorian shutters and bliss out in total darkness in our firm extra-length Queen bed with the finest linen and pillows. A totally silent minibar fridge will be stocked to your taste, and a tea and coffee station, and room safe bring the room to cocoon status. Stay a night or a month ~ you will be revitalised and inspired.

SAFFRON QUEEN ROOM
Wrap yourself in the glory of Saffron
Piketberg, has emerged as a, hub for "red gold" production, which offers high economic value with small land requirements. Saffron is an incredibly fragrant and strong spice that imbues dishes with a colour and depth like no other. We use it in our famous Saffron Coconut Prawn Linguine which you have to try! The room is romantic and has a separate toilet and a reading nook by the window.

ROOIBOS QUEEN ROOM
Old world charm and modern comfort
Facing the original stoep, this room is inspired by the colours and textures of one of the Sandveld's most renown exports - Rooibos Tea. From its beautiful yellow flowers, to the final red spiky ingredient found in fine teas around the world, the humble aspalathus linearis bush gives the landscape a fluffy character. With upcycled objet and decor sourced from the Western Cape, the room exudes an ecclectic layered charm. Close those original Victorian shutters and luxuriate in the super comfy extra-length queen bed with the finest linen and pillows, or get busy at the large desk ~ ideal for creative work. Guests can make use of their own reserved seating area on the stoep for sunny afternoons and a lovely view of the Piketberg mountain.

BUCHU KING SUITE
Tranquility in Nature's Embrace
The Buchu Suite faces the stoep and Piketberg Mountain above, and is inspired by the colours and textures of one of the Cape's most interesting wild herbs. Buchu (Agathosma betulina) is an aromatic plant native to South Africa, long prized for its active volatile oils (like diosphenol). Long consumed by the Khoi-san as a tea or tinctures to act as a natural diuretic, urinary antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory, primarily targeting bladder, kidney, and digestive ailments. This spacious room is fitted with two large work-desks and is ideal for creative couples who have work to do!
